SAMARITAN MINISTRIES SOUP KITCHEN is in need of helpers on Fridays for preparing and serving lunch to the least fortunate of our community. The commitment would be from 9:00 AM to 1:15 PM on Fridays, either every Friday or every other Friday. Work consists of preparing the dining room for lunch, taking trays to guests, and cleaning up tables after lunch. Please contact John Kliem 774-2319 for more information.

We are collecting food and other items for the Samaritan Ministries Men’s Shelter in Winston-Salem. Please deposit your non-perishable items in the bin in the Curlin Center concourse.


More than 20 years ago, the American bishops established the National Office of Respect Life to address the “slippery slope” of diminished respect for life found in the United States.  Respect Life of Holy Family in coordination with the Diocese of Charlotte Respect Life Program seeks to educate and raise awareness of Life issues through this participation.  It especially addresses the issues of abortion, euthanasia and stem-cell research, and engages in activities, such as, the annual Life Chain of Winston-Salem, the annual March for Life in Raleigh, NC and Washington DC, praying at the local Planned Parenthood abortion clinic, Her Choice of Forsyth County, Inc. ( and prayer services at Holy Family.

The Community Life Commission addresses the social, physical and spiritual issues of the parish and the community working cooperatively with other churches and social agencies dedicated to alleviating poverty and curing social ills.
